On-site verification · China

Before you wire the money, someone should actually go.

We visit your Chinese supplier at the address they gave you, film the visit in one unedited take, and send you what we saw — plus a written list of what we could not confirm.

The principle

We don’t make any decision for you.
We’re your eyes and ears.

A decision needs context we don’t have: your margin, your customer, your appetite for risk, what happens to your business if this order goes wrong. What we have is a pair of eyes at an address and a camera that doesn’t cut.

So we report. You decide. That division is deliberate, and it is the reason our reports are worth reading — there is nothing in them we need you to conclude.

  • We do go, look, film, photograph, and write down what we saw.
  • We don’t score the supplier, recommend a course of action, or tell you it is safe to pay.
  • You get the raw evidence and an explicit list of what the visit could not establish.

All eight commitments →

01 — the failure

“The factory tour was real. It just wasn’t their factory.”

That is a buyer describing, after the fact, how a supplier with a Gold badge, production-line photos and a live video walkthrough turned out to be a trading company with a showroom attached to somebody else’s plant. The tour was genuine. The building was genuine. It simply wasn’t theirs.

And the 5,000-unit trial run that followed came back with a cheaper magnetic closure and misaligned printing, because the whole order had been subcontracted to a different facility.

What remote checks cannot tell you: whether the sign above the door matches the company on the business licence, whether the address is a plant or a two-desk office, whether the line was running that week, or how many people actually walked in at 7:40am. Those are all things that require a person to be standing there.
02 — deliverables

Evidence, not a verdict.

Three artefacts do most of the work. None of them can be produced from a desk.

01

One unedited take

From the street corner to the gate to the production floor and back out. No cuts. A cut is what makes a video fabricable, so we don’t cut.

02

Sign versus licence

A side-by-side photo of the name on the building and the name on the business licence hanging inside it. This single comparison catches more impersonation than any database.

03

What we could not confirm

Every report ends with an explicit list of what this visit did not establish. If you are being sold certainty, you are being sold something that does not exist.

03 — packages

Pick by what you’re actually deciding.

Not sure which one? If your order is under $20,000 and you haven’t paid a deposit, take the $500. If you’re about to commit real money to this supplier, take the $1,000.

04 — process

Five steps, from a WeChat message to a report.

You do two things: add us, and tell us the address. Everything after that is ours.

  1. Add us on WeChat

    About a minute

Scan the code or send your WeChat ID to our email. No form to fill in, no account to create, and no sales sequence after. If we are not the right service for your situation, we will say so in this step.

    You
  2. Tell us the supplier and what you are deciding

    Same day

The company name, the address you were given, what you are buying and what worries you. Voice notes are fine. If the address sits outside the belts we cover, you hear that now rather than after payment.

    Both
  3. We confirm the scope in writing, then you pay

    Within 24 hours

You get what we will check, what we will not check, the date, the fee and the refund terms. Nothing is booked until you approve it. Payment is WeChat Pay or Alipay, arranged with us directly.

    Both
  4. A local verifier goes to the address

    2–3 hours on site

Someone based in that industrial belt travels to the site and calls you from the gate. You stay on a live video call while they film one continuous take, then photograph the sign, the licence on the wall and the street outside.

    Us
  5. Evidence and report delivered

    72 hours after the visit

The unedited video, every original photograph and the written report — including the list of what this visit could not confirm. No watermark, no time-limited access. Yours to keep.

    Us

Step 01 · start here

WeChat.

That is the whole contact page. Send the supplier’s name and the address, and we will tell you whether we can reach it, what it costs and when we can go.

WeChat ID oceanplans

Why only WeChat. It is what everyone in China actually uses, including the factories we visit. Text, voice notes, video and live video calls all happen in one app — so the call from the factory floor arrives on the same thread we have been talking on.

Who you’re dealing with

We are not one person with a phone.

We are a distributed team with people on the ground across China’s main manufacturing belts. That is why we can reach a factory in Foshan on Monday and one in Ningbo on Wednesday without either job turning into a three-day trip.

Local people, not a courier

Every visit is done by someone who lives in that industrial belt, speaks the local dialect where it matters, and knows what a real production floor looks like.

One brief, one standard

Everyone works from the same checklist and the same filming route, so a report from Dongguan and a report from Wenzhou are directly comparable.

A named person signs every report

You always know who went, when, and what they saw. No anonymous subcontractors.

Official site ibeigai.com

I have spent seventeen years building businesses on the Chinese internet. For the last several I have run 出海计划 — a programme for Chinese exporters trying to reach buyers overseas. That work is the mirror image of this one: they cannot see the buyer, and you cannot see the factory.

Most verification services in this market are anonymous. You send money to a website, and if it goes wrong there is nobody behind it you could hold accountable. I am built the other way round: my name, my face and my public audience are attached to every engagement.

Why we tell you this

Reputation is the collateral we post.

In this market, almost every “verification service” is anonymous. You wire money to a website and there is nobody behind it you could ever hold accountable. We are built the opposite way round.

Our founder publishes in public to 100,000+ followers across platforms. The name on this business is the same name on that account. If we ever took a factory’s commission, it would be public within a day — and it would end the business. That is not a promise we are asking you to believe. It is a structural fact about how we are set up.

We care more about our name than about any single order. That is exactly why you can use it.

05 — position

We are paid by buyers only.

No commission. No rebate. No gift. No hospitality. Not from the factory, and not from any inspection company, freight forwarder or certification body we might point you toward.

We hand every factory we visit a written no-commission notice, and every report carries a signed interests declaration. If a supplier offers us anything of value, we disclose it to you and ask that it be converted into a discount on your price.

06 — questions

The ones that decide it.

What exactly am I buying?

A person physically standing at your supplier’s address, recording what is there, and writing down what it means. You are not buying a database lookup or an automated score. You are buying presence — the one thing that cannot be faked from a desk.

Why not just ask the supplier for a video tour?

Because a video tour can be filmed in someone else’s factory. This is the single most common failure we see: buyers get a polished walkthrough, the supplier subcontracts the run to another facility, and the buyer only finds out after the goods arrive. Unedited footage filmed by someone who is physically present, at the address you were given, is a different category of evidence.

Do you tell the supplier you are coming?

By default, no. We arrive at the address and then call the contact. This preserves the chance of catching the everyday reality rather than a staged one. If you prefer an announced visit, tell us in your brief — some suppliers react better to it.

What if the supplier refuses to let you in?

That is a result, not a failure. We still deliver the footage from the street, the sign on the building, the address, and their exact response. We do not refund for refusal — the information you get is often the most useful part. We refund only if we cannot locate the address or the visit does not happen at all.

Do you take commission from factories?

No. Not a commission, not a rebate, not a gift, not hospitality. We are paid by buyers only. We hand every factory we visit a written no-commission notice, and every report has a signed interests declaration. This is the whole point of our position — see Our position.

Will the cheaper package tell me if the factory is “good”?

No, and neither will the expensive one. We report observations, not verdicts. We tell you whether the company exists at that address, whether the sign matches the business licence, whether production is actually running, and what we could not confirm. Judging whether they are the right supplier for you is your call, and we deliberately do not take that decision away from you.
